Change the Email Associated with the Social Account

Overview

When using the OTP login with an email ID, the email associated with the account can be changed. However, when logging in with a Social Account, the associated email cannot be changed. This article details whether it is possible to change the email associated with the social account.

Solution

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the user's email address through the application when they authenticate using a social connection. In this scenario, the user's identity is provided by a third party (for example, Google, Facebook, etc.), and changes to their email address via Auth0 are not supported. 

If a user needs to update their email address for an account connected using a social Identity Provider, they will need to manage that on their account on the provider portal.
