Customize Error Message Displayed to Users Who Are Blocked

Overview

By default, the new universal login experience will show the following error message:

Your account has been blocked after multiple consecutive login attempts.

Solution

It is possible to customize this message by updating the user-blocked key of the login, login-id, and login-password screens (each found under the same prompt name).

  1. In the Auth0 Dashboard, go to Branding > Universal Login > Advanced Options

  1. Select Custom Text and select login from the Prompt dropdown.

  1. Update the user-blocked field with the desired custom message.

  1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the login-id and login-password Prompts and Screens.
