Overview

This article provides a solution to the following error that occurs when attempting to create a user via the Management API or signing up a database user.

Connection must be enabled for this client to perform single user creation and signup operations.

Cause

This error will get thrown if the connection used to sign up or create a user is not enabled for the application making the request.

Solution

Enable the connection for the application involved. This can be done in the dashboard by going to Applications > Applications > Select Application > Connections.
