Invitations Not Getting Sent While Adding New Auth0 Tenant Members

Overview

When users invited to join as members in private instances do not receive invitation emails, administrators can copy the invite link from the Auth0 Dashboard and share it via an alternative channel. If no users receive tenant invites, the company email server might be blocking the IP address of the Auth0 email server.

Applies To

  • Auth0
  • Invitation Emails
  • Emails
  • New Tenant Member

Solution

How are tenant member invitations shared when emails fail to send?

Copy the invite link from the Auth0 Dashboard and share it with the invitee via an alternative channel so they can join the tenant.

  1. Go to Settings > Tenant Members in the Auth0 Dashboard.
  2. Switch the drop-down list to Invitations instead of Members.

Tenant settings

  1. Locate the pending user in the Invitations list.
  2. Select the three dots next to the user and select Copy invitation link.

Copy invitation link.

  1. Share the link with the invitee via an alternative channel.

NOTE: The invitation remains valid only for tenant members who do not have an expired invitation.

Why do company users fail to receive tenant invites?

If none of the company's users receive tenant invites, one possibility is that the email server is blocking Auth0's IP address. In that case, it will be necessary to create an exception to prevent blocking Auth0's email server IP address.
