Is it possible to change the sub in the Auth0-generated jwt token?

Overview

We're trying to change the `sub` claim for the access token in the rules, but notice that the change is ignored. I see a similar question on the community support page: https://community.auth0.com/t/change-subject-in-id-token-by-rules/22796/4
Wondering if this is still the case today, that there's no way of changing the sub in rules?

Solution

We do not support modifying the sub claim within actions or rules (as of 8/25/23), but would you be able to share a bit more about your use case? We may have an alternative approach that we can recommend.
