Auth0 Admin Profile Email Needs to be Changed

Overview

A user might need to change their primary email to log in to the Auth0 Dashboard. For example, due to a change in the company domain.

Solution

Auth0 does not support changing the email addresses of Dashboard Administrators or linking Auth0 identities for the dashboard. Invite the new email address as an Admin of the tenant(s).

  1. Navigate to the Auth0 Dashboard > Settings > Tenant members.
  2. Click Add Member.
  3. Select the necessary roles.
  4. Issue an invitation to the new email address to the tenant.

Then, the user can log out of the Auth0 dashboard and accept the invitation (or do so in an incognito window, which will avoid the need to log out of the previous Auth0 identity).

After confirming that the new email address/account has access to the tenant, it is recommended to remove the old email address/account from the tenant if it is no longer in use (as a Zero Trust security best practice principle). This can be achieved by performing the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Auth0 Dashboard > Settings > Tenant members.
  2. Click  to the right of a user name or email and click Remove.
  3. Click Save.
