Organizations Does Not Appear In Universal Login Organization Picker

Overview

When a user is added as a member to new organizations within an Auth0 tenant, the new organizations do not appear in the organization selection picker on the Universal Login page.

Applies To

  • Auth0 tenant
  • Universal Login
  • Organization membership addition

Cause

The Universal Login organization picker only displays an organization if it is configured to use at least one active Authentication Connection and the user is a participant in at least one of those enabled connections. The issue is caused by the organization's Connections configuration. Simply adding a user as a member to an organization is not sufficient for it to appear in the organization picker.

Solution

To resolve this issue, the organization must be configured correctly, and the user must be associated with the organization's connection.

Verify the following conditions are met for an organization to appear in the organization picker on the Universal Login page:

  • Connection Enabled: At least one Authentication Connection (for example, Database, Social Provider, Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)) must be enabled specifically for that organization.

  • User Participation: The member must be an associated participant (for example, have credentials or be linked) within one of the enabled connections for that organization.

NOTE: If a connection is enabled for the organization but the user does not belong to the enabled connection (for example, the user has not signed up or been invited through that specific connection), the organization will still not appear in the picker, even though the user is structurally a member of the organization itself.
