Show a Code Instead of QR Code when Enrolling in MFA on a Mobile Device

Overview
This article explains how to show users a code instead of a QR code when enrolling mobile devices in One-Time Passcode (OTP) Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), as users are not able to scan a QR code that is displayed on the same device that should be scanning the code.

Solution
Use the following workaround using the New Universal Login Page Template functionality.
This script checks to see if the user is on prompt.screen.name == "mfa-otp-enrollment-qr".
If they are, it performs a check to see if they are using a mobile device.- If they are, find the button with the text Trouble Scanning? and then click that button. This will change the page to the one that shows the code.
Here is the code used, but note that this is just sample code and should be tested thoroughly before using in production:

Another option would be to change the Trouble Scanning? text to something a bit more descriptive to make the flow more obvious for end users. Review the instructions in Customize Universal Login Text Elements for more details on changing the text.
