Auth0 Global Dashboard Search Does Not Return Existing User Accounts
Last Updated:
Overview
The Auth0 global dashboard search does not return existing user accounts due to a two-second query execution timeout. Search for users directly within the User Management section of the Auth0 dashboard to locate the accounts. When using the global dashboard search feature, Auth0 returns an empty result instead of displaying the existing user accounts.
Global dashboard search is accessed via Command + K (MacOS) or Control (Ctrl) + K (Windows/Linux).
Applies To
- Auth0
- Global Dashboard Search
Cause
The global dashboard search feature enforces a two-second timeout. If query execution exceeds this limit, Auth0 applies the timeout and returns an empty result to the dashboard. Cache state and concurrent load determine whether a single search finishes in time. Tenants with a large number of users within the User Management section experience this issue more frequently because the cost of running the user query scales with the total number of users in the tenant.
Solution
How are users located when the global dashboard search times out?
While Auth0 resolves this issue in a future update, navigate to the User Management section of the Auth0 dashboard to search for specific user accounts.
- Open the Auth0 dashboard.
- Go to User Management, and then select Users.
- Search for the specific user account.
