Auth0 Verification Email Link Uses Canonical Domain Instead of Custom Domain
Last Updated:
Overview
When sending a verification email from the user details screen, the email link still uses the default canonical domain even when a custom domain is selected. This occurs because the custom domain notification setting remains inactive.
Applies To
- Custom Domains
- User Management
- Verification Email
- Auth0
Cause
The Enable custom domains for email and phone notifications setting remains inactive. When this setting remains off, Auth0 uses the default canonical domain for verification links, regardless of the domain selected in the prompt.
Solution
To resolve this issue, enable the custom domain setting for notifications in the Auth0 Dashboard to ensure the verification link uses the correct domain.
- Navigate to Branding and select Custom Domains.
- Enable the Enable custom domains for email and phone notifications toggle.
