Overview
A BadRequestError occurs when accepting an Auth0 Teams invitation if the invitation expires or becomes inactive. This can also happen if the invitation was successfully accepted, but the user tries to subsequently log in afterward using the invitation link. To resolve this issue, if the user is confirmed not to already be a member of the Team, request a new invitation and accept it within three days of issuance. When attempting to accept a Team invitation, the following error occurs:

Applies To
- Auth0
- Teams Invitations
Cause
A BadRequestError occurs when accepting an Auth0 Teams invitation if the invitation expires or is no longer active. This happens if the Team Owner deletes the invitation in the Teams Dashboard, if the three-day expiration period passes, or if the invitation link has already been used and the user is already a member, but the user subsequently tries to log in using the invitation link.
Solution
How is the BadRequestError resolved for Auth0 Teams invitations?
If the user is confirmed not to already be a member of the Team because they previously used that invitation link to accept the invite, to resolve the error, request a new invitation from the Team Owner and accept it before the three-day expiration period.
- Request a new Teams invitation from the Team Owner.
- Accept the Auth0 Teams invitation within three days of receipt.
