Overview

This article addresses an error that occurs when a user attempts to install a Slack application associated with a custom OAuth2 connection in Auth0. The installation fails with the following error:

You are not authorized to install -app name-, it is restricted for this workspace.

Cause

This error occurs because the Slack workspace has a setting enabled that requires administrator approval before a user can install a new application.
