Visibility and Functionality of the api_behavior Property

Overview
By default, the options.authentication_methods.password.api_behavior property is not included in the response of the Get a Connection API. This article explains the visibility of this property and its impact on user creation.

Cause
The api_behavior property is added to the API response only after the Support users without a password setting has been modified.
Solution
The options.authentication_methods.password.api_behavior property defines whether a user can be created without a password via the Management API and Authentication API. This setting does not affect sign-ups performed via Universal Login.
The default value for this property is required. The property becomes visible in the API response once the Support users without a password configuration is modified via the API or the Admin Dashboard. The property remains in the response even if the configuration is reverted to the default value.
To locate this setting in the Admin Dashboard:

Navigate to Database Connection > Authentication Methods.

Select Password and click Configure.

Select the Policy tab.

Locate the setting.
