Align Guardian SDK Experience with Guardian App

Overview

This article explains whether it is possible to modify the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) behavior, listed below, of a custom application built with the Guardian Software Development Kit (SDK) to function more like the native Guardian App.

A custom application built using the Guardian SDK exhibits the following authentication behaviors, which differ from the native Guardian App:

  • A custom application does not support approving a login attempt from a web device on a user's native device if push notifications are disabled.

  • The SDK does not present a dialog on the native device that displays login attempt details like the native Guardian App.

  • Enrollment in push notification authentication cannot be conditionally triggered based on the login originating from the web or a user's prior authentication history with Auth0 on a native device.

Applies To
  • Guardian SDK
  • Guardian App
  • Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
Solution

Implementing the same behavior in the Guardian Software Development Kit (SDK) as in the native Guardian App is not yet supported. To suggest this functionality in a future release of Auth0, please submit a feature request using the Product Feedback form. More information about this process can be found at How to Submit Product Feedback.
