Prompt for First and Last Name During New Universal Login Signup

Overview

This article clarifies whether it is possible to prompt for a user's first and last name during the New Universal Login Experience signup flow.

Attempting to customize the Login/Signup form with partial prompts on certain subscription plans may result in the following error:

403 "This feature is not available for your plan. To create or modify prompt templates, please upgrade your account to a Professional or Enterprise plan."

Applies To

Essentials plans (Business-to-Consumer/Business-to-Business)
Free/Trial plan
Startup plan
Professional plans (Business-to-Consumer/Business-to-Business)
Enterprise plan

Cause

If the current subscription is with the B2C/B2B Essentials plan, a 403 error should appear when updating the Login/Signup form with partial prompts, as this does not include the Customize Signup & Login feature.

Solution

The ability to prompt for first and last names is part of the Customize Signup & Login feature.

This feature is available only for the Professional (Business-to-Consumer (B2C) / Business-to-Business (B2B)) and Enterprise plans.

NOTE: For the Professional plan, the upgrade can be performed from the Teams Dashboard. For the Enterprise plan, please contact the Sales team directly.
