Auth0 supports passwordless authentication 458 with SMS, this method allows the user to sign in with a phone number instead of email. Otherwise, the user must have an email associated with their username, or be using an external IDP like a social connection (e.g. google/facebook/twitter).
 

There is currently no support for username/password without email.
