Team Invitation Error The User Already Exists

Overview

When a user clicks a team invitation link, an attempt to sign up fails with the following error message:

The user already exists.

Cause

This error indicates that the user previously created an Auth0 account.

Solution

Select the login link to accept the invitation.
Log In
If the user does not remember the login credentials, request a password reset from the same invitation sign-up modal.
