This article provides steps to configure a user account with both a passkey and a password when passkeys are enabled in the tenant.

When passkeys are enabled within the tenant, a user can have both a passkey and a password configured for the account. The sign-up flow can be modified in two ways to enable both a passkey and a password.

Create the passkey first

1. Select Sign up.

2. Enter the email address and press Continue.

3. Select Create a passkey.

4. Save the passkey. The user is now logged in with a passkey.
5. Log out of the account.
6. When logging in again, select Can't log in to your account?.

7. Enter the email address and select Continue. This action sends a Change Password email.

8. Finish the change password flow to set the password.

Set up Email/Password first

1. Select Sign up.
2. Enter the email address and select Continue.
3. Select Continue without passkeys during the sign-up flow.

4. Set up the password and select Continue to complete the login.

5. Log out of the account.
6. When logging in again, the user is prompted to Set up a passkey.

Both scenarios result in a user having a passkey and a password set for the account.
